Fit a timer on the immersion or don't leave it on continuously
Fitting a timer switch to your immersion heater, or just getting into the habit of ensuring it isn't left on all the time can make a big difference to the amount of energy used for heating your water. Ensuring you are only heating the water when it is needed could save over 80kg of CO2 and €20 per annum on your electricity bill.
In addition make sure the temperature control is set at no more than 60°C, any more than this and you are wasting money and energy unnecessarily.
