Cúl Green wins Golden Spider Award
20 Nov 2009
We are delighted to announce that the Cúl Green website won the “Best Community and Charity Website” Award at the 13th Golden Spider Awards last night. The Awards were held at the Burlington hotel in Dublin. ESB, the GAA and all at Croke Park are very pleased that the website and the support of the fans on the Cúl Green initiative have been recognised in this way.
The category required not-for-profit Community & Charity websites for either community or charity projects to display effective communication of key messages through compelling content, design and related functionality. Community engagement and the ability for users of the website to contribute and engage with the initiative were key success metrics.
Speaking after the Awards, Eamonn Fallon, a judge for the Awards and CEO of Daft.ie, said "the quality of entrants this year was very high. Sites were judged not just on how they looked, but on many different criteria: speed, accessibility, breadth of content, business model and innovation. Many of the winners this year also had large amounts of user generated content and social features.”
Others nominated in this category included Concern Worldwide, www.downsyndromecentre.ie, www.fotawildlife.ie, www.gaelport.com, Northside Learning Hub, www.lookwest.ie and www.mumstown.ie.
